The Psagot Playgrounds Thomas Locomotive is the engine-only model from the Thomas train series. It is a compact HDPE structure with an open play area, climbing and crawling opportunities, and a colorful locomotive design that toddlers respond to. Holds 4 children, ages 2-5, with ASTM F1487 and IPEMA certifications. Fall height is 1 foot 11 inches.
BEST FOR: Small daycares and tight play spaces that want train-themed play for ages 2-5 without the footprint of the full Thomas. The 4-child capacity keeps it intimate, and the compact size fits where larger structures cannot.
The Thomas Locomotive is the entry point for train play when space or budget is limited. It is just the engine — no carriages — but toddlers do not seem to mind. They climb in, crawl through, and play engineer in the open area. At 4-child capacity, it works well for smaller programs or as a supplemental piece in a larger playground.
The 1-foot-11-inch fall height makes it one of the safest structures in our toddler line. If you start with the Locomotive and later want to expand, it connects to the larger Thomas configurations. HDPE from recycled materials resists UV and weather, so it holds its color and shape through the seasons.
