The Playground Equipment Hexagon Single Column Fabric Shade 10 FT is a commercial shade structure with a hexagonal canopy supported by a single center post at 10-foot height. The hexagonal shape provides even coverage in all directions from the center column. Can be used individually for smaller areas or grouped together for larger coverage needs.
BEST FOR: Playgrounds, picnic spots, and park areas where you need shade coverage that spreads evenly in every direction from a single point. The hexagonal shape covers more ground than a square canopy of the same span, and the single post keeps the area underneath unobstructed.
The hexagonal canopy gives you more even coverage than a square shade because it spreads outward at six angles instead of four. That matters when you're shading a circular seating area, a sandbox, or any space where people aren't sitting in neat rows. The single center post keeps the area underneath completely open, which I think is a real advantage over multi-post designs.
You can use one of these on its own for a smaller area, or cluster several together for broader coverage -- the hexagonal shape lets them tile together cleanly. At 10-foot entrance height, there's plenty of clearance for adults.
