The Psagot Playgrounds M Robinia Swing is one of the more striking pieces I carry. The curved Robinia wood beams have an organic, sculptural quality that blends into park settings the way metal frames never will. Robinia wood is naturally resistant to rot and insects, so it does not need the chemical preservation treatments that other wood species require. It weathers to a silver-gray that looks better over time, not worse.
The bird's nest seat hangs from steel-core ropes and allows a circular, floating kind of motion that is different from standard back-and-forth swinging. Up to 5 kids can share it, and I find that the gentle, unpredictable movement is particularly good for sensory regulation. It works as a quiet retreat or a social hangout depending on who is using it.
