The Psagot Playgrounds Accessible Robinia Seesaw is designed so children with limited mobility can join in seesaw play alongside everyone else. It is built from natural Robinia wood and uses a low-profile balancing mechanism with two platform seats connected through a central axis mounted on wheels. The motion is smooth and controlled — no jarring drops. It holds up to 4 children ages 2 to 12.
BEST FOR: If your playground needs to be inclusive — and in my opinion, every playground should be — this seesaw gives children with mobility challenges a way to participate in the same back-and-forth play as their peers. It works for ages 2 through 12 and seats 4 at a time.
Most seesaws require a child to straddle a seat and push off with their legs, which excludes a lot of kids. The Accessible Robinia Seesaw uses flat platform seats and a wheel-mounted axis, so a child who cannot straddle a beam or push off the ground can still ride. The motion is gentle and predictable, which matters for children who are uncomfortable with sudden jolts.
Beyond the accessibility features, I like that this seesaw works as a social tool. Two kids face each other, they make eye contact, they learn to time their movements together. That kind of back-and-forth interaction is hard to get from a climber or a slide.
