I carry the Psagot Playgrounds Aardvark because toddlers light up when they see it — it looks like an airplane they can climb into. The body is European Robinia wood with stainless steel 316 hardware, and it has a plastic chain slide off one side, a decorative propeller on the nose, a rounded roof overhead, and wing-shaped platforms for standing and pretending. It holds up to 12 kids at once with a fall height of just 1 foot 11 inches, so the scale is right for the 2-to-5 age range. ASTM F1487 and IPEMA certified.

What sets the Aardvark apart from a generic toddler climber is the airplane shape. Kids do not need instructions — they see the propeller, the wings, and the cockpit area, and they start flying. The chain slide is a nice touch too. Instead of a smooth plastic chute, the chain links give a different texture and a slightly different ride, which keeps kids coming back to it.
