The Psagot Playgrounds Gong is a modular outdoor percussion setup where each gong produces a different note when struck with bare hands. The gongs form harmonic chords and can be arranged by notes, chords, or scales in different configurations. No mallets needed. What I like about the Psagot Playgrounds Gong is that it teaches harmony through doing. Each gong makes a specific note, and when kids strike them together or in sequence, they get chords. There is no wrong way to play it since the tuning is set up so that combinations sound good, but there is plenty of room for kids who want to compose deliberately. No mallets to lose or break. Just hands and metal.
The modular design is the practical selling point. You can arrange these by notes, chords, or scales depending on what you are trying to accomplish with the space. A simple path of ascending notes works for toddler areas. A full chord station works for older kids. And because the modules are independent, you can add to the installation later or rearrange it when you want something fresh.
