The Psagot Playgrounds Dino the Dinosaur is a dinosaur-shaped HDPE crawling structure for ages 2-5. Kids enter through the dinosaur's tongue, crawl through the curved barrel body, and come out the other end with a slide. It holds 34 children, which makes it one of the highest-capacity toddler pieces in the Psagot catalog. ASTM F1487 and IPEMA certified, recycled HDPE construction.
BEST FOR: Large daycares and parks that need a high-capacity toddler element with a theme that kids are drawn to without being told. Dinosaurs sell themselves at this age — you do not need to explain the play value to a 3-year-old. If you are building out a playground where crawling and tunnel play are part of the developmental program, the Dino gives you that in a shape that keeps kids coming back.
There is a developmental angle to the Dino that goes beyond the crawling workout. Going into a dark, enclosed space is a small act of bravery for a 2 or 3-year-old. Coming out the other side — and getting a slide at the end — builds real confidence. I have seen hesitant kids take three visits before they crawl all the way through, and then they cannot stop doing it. That progression from cautious to confident is one of the things play equipment is supposed to create.
The dinosaur shape distributes kids along the length of the body rather than concentrating them at one point, which keeps the flow moving. The recycled HDPE barrel is smooth inside, durable on the outside, and the whole structure holds up to years of sun and weather without maintenance issues.
