The Playground Equipment Single Post Overhead Inverted Horizon Climber With Rope Attachment combines a rope climb and an overhead bar traverse into one structure for ages 5-12. Kids scale the nylon-wrapped steel cable rope on one side, then cross the inverted horizon bars overhead. The rope is rigid and load-bearing, supporting multiple climbers at once. Holds 4-7 kids, 96" fall height, 14' 3"W x 20' 11"L use zone. Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 standards.
BEST FOR: I'd recommend this for playgrounds that want two challenges in one footprint. The rope side draws in kids who want to climb up, and the overhead bars challenge the ones who want to traverse across -- so you get more play value without doubling the space.
This is one of the better two-in-one structures in the PGS line. One side gives kids a rope climb using steel cables wrapped in nylon -- it's rigid enough that it doesn't flop around when weight shifts, which makes climbing more predictable and less frustrating. Once they reach the top, the overhead inverted horizon bars give them a different kind of challenge: hand-over-hand traversing that works grip, shoulders, and core all at once.
The rope holds up to multiple kids climbing simultaneously, and the steel cable core means it won't stretch or fray the way fiber ropes can.
