Playground Equipment Octagon Rung Horizontal Ladder is a freestanding overhead climber for ages 5-12 with a full octagon-shaped loop built into the middle of the climbing path. Kids start on a straight section, navigate through the loop, and exit the other side -- a layout you won't find on typical monkey bars. Holds 5-10 children with a 96" fall height and a 20' x 19' 9" use zone. Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 safety standards.
BEST FOR: I'd recommend the Octagon Rung Horizontal Ladder for parks and schools that want to step up from a basic overhead ladder without going to a full obstacle course. The octagon loop adds decision-making -- kids choose which direction to take around the loop -- while the straight entry and exit sections keep it approachable.
The octagon loop in the middle is what makes this climber stand out. Instead of crossing from point A to point B in a straight line, kids reach the center and have to decide which way around the loop they want to go. That element of choice adds replay value and lets multiple children use the loop section simultaneously from different directions.
