The 4 Foot Single Straight Embankment Slide installs directly into the side of a hill, turning natural terrain into a playground slide. There is no ladder, no staircase, and no play structure to attach it to — the slope itself provides the elevation. Rated for ages 2-12, with a 48-inch fall height and a use zone of 14 feet 8 inches wide by 7 feet long. Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 safety standards.
BEST FOR: Schools, parks, and daycare centers with a modest slope on the property. If you have a small hill and want to turn it into something useful without spending on a full play system, this slide does the job at a lower price point than freestanding structures.
I point clients toward embankment slides when they have a hill on the property and want to save money compared to building a freestanding slide with a deck and staircase. This 4-foot version is the sweet spot for smaller mounds — tall enough to give kids a real slide experience, but low enough that the youngest kids in the 2-12 range are not intimidated by it.
Because the slide goes right into the hillside, installation costs tend to be lower than a freestanding structure, and the result looks more natural. The polyethylene chute and powder-coated steel posts are standard commercial-grade materials, so durability is not a concern.
