Playground Equipment Uptown District is a commercial play structure for ages 5-12 that comes with two built-in overhead shade structures -- a feature most playground equipment makes you buy separately. The shade canopies cover a significant portion of the play area, keeping kids and equipment cooler during peak sun hours. BEST FOR: I'd recommend the Uptown District for schools, parks, and community playgrounds in full-sun locations. The two overhead shade structures are the real selling point -- they protect kids from direct sun and keep the plastic components from getting too hot to touch on summer afternoons. The 44-58 kid capacity and activity variety keep a large group engaged, and the nearly square 43-by-43-foot use zone fits well on sites that aren't long and narrow.
