The Playground Equipment Agility Poles come as a set of five ground-mounted posts for children ages 2-12. Kids weave, dodge, and sprint between the poles, building agility, footwork, and cardiovascular fitness. Lightweight and durable, the poles work best arranged in a straight line for slalom-style drills. Holds 2-5 kids, with a use zone of 12' 2" x 28' 0". Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 safety standards.
BEST FOR: I'd recommend the Agility Poles for schools and parks that want to promote speed, footwork, and cardio without a large investment. They are one of the most affordable fitness pieces in the lineup, and kids instinctively know what to do with them -- weave in and out as fast as possible. Good for PE programs, fitness trails, and athletic training areas.
Agility poles are borrowed from sports training, and they work just as well on a playground. Line up all five in a row and kids will run slalom patterns through them over and over -- it is one of those activities where competition makes it self-motivating. No fall height to worry about since the equipment is at ground level, and the 2-12 age range means everyone from toddlers to sixth graders can use them. Young kids weave slowly for coordination; older kids sprint for speed.
The poles are powder-coated steel, ground-mounted for stability, and built to handle outdoor conditions year-round. At 12' x 28' for the use zone, you do need some length, but the narrow width means they fit along a fence line or the edge of a field.
