The Playground Equipment Free Standing Learning Junction is a commercial play panel for ages 2-12 that combines a Spelling Panel and a Math Panel in one freestanding station. Rotating cylinders let kids form 3-letter words and build math expressions right on the playground. Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 standards.
BEST FOR: I'd recommend this for schools and daycares that want to sneak some learning into recess. Kids don't even realize they're practicing spelling and math -- they just like spinning the cylinders. It's a solid add-on for any playground that already has physical equipment and needs something educational.
This is one of my favorite pieces for schools. The Learning Junction puts a Spelling Panel and a Math Panel on a single freestanding post system, so kids can rotate between word-building and math problems without leaving the station. The spelling side has 3 wheels that form simple 3-letter words, and the math side has numbers and operation symbols so kids can create and solve their own expressions. It keeps them thinking during recess, which teachers appreciate.
The posts are powder-coated steel and the panels are polyethylene plastic, so this holds up well outdoors season after season. It meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 safety standards.
