The Playground Equipment 8 Foot 450-Degree Spiral Slide takes riders through one and a quarter full rotations from an 8-foot deck height. Built for ages 5-12, the extra rotation extends the ride well beyond a standard 360-degree spiral. Has a 96" fall height and a use zone of 27' 4" x 21' 6". Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 safety standards.
BEST FOR: I'd recommend the 450-Degree Spiral for playgrounds that want something different from the standard spiral. That extra quarter-turn changes the ride feel noticeably, and kids pick up on it -- they will choose this slide over a regular spiral every time. Works well as a signature feature at parks and schools.
Most spiral slides give you 360 degrees. This one goes to 450 -- an extra quarter-turn that extends the ride and changes the exit angle. It sounds like a small difference on paper, but kids notice it immediately. The longer spiral path builds more momentum and adds a sense of surprise since the exit is not where riders expect it. On playgrounds where we have installed both standard and 450-degree spirals, the 450 consistently gets more traffic.
The open-chute design keeps riders visible throughout the descent, which is a plus for supervisors. Rotomolded polyethylene construction handles sun, rain, and heavy use without breaking down. The 27' 4" x 21' 6" use zone is wider than a straight slide but narrower than some tube spirals, so it can work in spaces where a tube would not fit.
