The Psagot Playgrounds Snowboard is a curved-arch balance structure with an HDPE surface that slides side to side, simulating a snowboarding or skating feel. Kids can sit or stand on it for different challenge levels. Built for 1 user. Ages 5-12. Fall height is 3'-2.4" with a 31'-6.0" x 31'-6.
BEST FOR: Parks and playgrounds that want something unusual. I have never seen another piece of equipment that does what this one does, and kids figure it out within about 30 seconds of stepping on it.
The Snowboard is one of those pieces that is hard to explain but easy to understand once you see it. The HDPE surface slides along a curved arch, so when a child stands on it and shifts their weight, they glide from side to side like they are on a snowboard. Sitting down makes it easier. Standing makes it a real balance workout. Either way, it works the core, legs, and arms all at the same time.
Because it is a single-user structure, the Snowboard naturally teaches turn-taking. Kids line up and wait without being told to because they can see the person on it is using the whole thing. That social benefit is a bonus on top of the physical development. 0" x 31'-6.0", which is larger than you might expect for a single-user piece, but the sliding motion covers real ground.
