The Psagot Playgrounds Hurricane is a six-seat carousel where each rider gets their own colorful HDPE seat with handholds. Children can grip the handholds for stability or let go for more of a balance challenge, so every rider sets their own difficulty level. It develops vestibular skills, balance, and social coordination. Holds 6 children ages 5 to 12, with a fall height of 3 feet 2.4 inches.
BEST FOR: If you need a carousel that handles a group and keeps different skill levels happy at the same time, the Hurricane is what I would recommend. Six individual seats with handholds let each child choose how much challenge they want. Ages 5 to 12.
What makes the Hurricane work so well is the individual seat design. Six kids are on the same carousel, but each one controls their own experience. A cautious rider grips the handholds tight and stays stable. A more confident rider lets go and rides the motion. I have watched kids on the same Hurricane having completely different experiences, and all of them are having a good time.
The group dynamic adds a layer that solo spinners cannot match. Six riders have to coordinate how hard they push and pull, which teaches force regulation and cooperation without any adult having to explain it. The galvanized metal and HDPE are built for commercial use, and the 6-child capacity makes this one of the more efficient carousels per square foot of safety zone.
