The 6 Foot Single Straight Embankment Slide is the largest in the single straight embankment series, designed for bigger hills where the 3, 4, and 5-foot versions fall short. It installs directly into the side of a slope — no ladder, no stairs, no separate play structure needed. Rated for ages 2-12, with a 72-inch fall height and a use zone of 14 feet 8 inches wide by 7 feet long. Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 standards.
BEST FOR: Schools, parks, and community play areas with a taller hill or mound that the shorter embankment slides cannot cover. This is also a solid pick when you want a slide that blends into the landscape rather than standing above it as a freestanding structure.
I recommend embankment slides when a site has a natural slope and the client wants to use it instead of fighting it. This 6-foot version covers bigger mounds that the shorter models cannot reach, while keeping the same low-profile look. Because the hill itself acts as the approach, kids walk up the ground to reach the top — which feels more natural and is easier for younger children than climbing a ladder.
The slide bed is polyethylene and the posts are powder-coated steel, so it holds up well outdoors year after year. One thing I always mention: because it sits against the ground, drainage around the base matters. Make sure water is not pooling at the bottom of the slide during installation planning.
