The timber size matters. A lot of sets in this price range use 2x4 posts. The Classic Playcenter uses 4x4 and 4x6 timbers—same as Playground One's $5,000+ sets. That means less wobble, more stability, and parents end up on these things more than they expect.
Cedar over pine. Pine is heavier but splinters more and is more expensive. Cedar naturally resists rot and insects. After 10+ years selling both, I've seen the difference in how they hold up in NJ weather.
Vinyl-dipped chains. Small detail, but the swing chains are coated so they don't pinch fingers or get burning hot in summer sun.
