The Psagot Playgrounds Mini Rope Snake Swing is a lateral group swing for up to 6 users. Kids sit or stand on a soft rope-covered seat and grip individual handhold ropes while they coordinate a side-to-side snake motion together. Ages 5-12. Fall height is 3'-3.4" with a 19'-11.5" x 19'-11. Not certified.
BEST FOR: Playgrounds that want cooperative play equipment where kids have to work together. The side-to-side motion only works when riders coordinate, which makes it a teamwork exercise disguised as a swing.
The Mini Rope Snake Swing is unlike any traditional swing because the motion goes side to side instead of back and forth. Six kids line up on the rope-covered seat, each holding their own pair of grip ropes, and they have to move together to get the snake motion going. When they are out of sync, nothing happens. When they figure it out, the whole thing comes alive. I have watched groups of kids spend 30 minutes just trying to get the rhythm right.
5" x 19'-11.5" makes this a good fit for playgrounds that do not have room for a full swing bay but still want high-capacity social equipment. The fall height is only 3'-3.4", so the risk profile is low. The rope surface feels good in the hand and is comfortable to sit or stand on, and the galvanized steel frame holds up to years of outdoor use.
