The Psagot Playgrounds Inclusive Mushroom Spring is a spring platform with a railing frame, designed so children with physical disabilities can enjoy bouncing play alongside everyone else. Kids who need support hold the railing; kids who want more challenge let go. They can bounce in place or jump off onto the surrounding surface. It holds 1 child ages 2 to 5, with a fall height of 3 feet 2.4 inches.
BEST FOR: If you need a spring element that works for children with physical disabilities and typically developing kids on the same piece of equipment, this is what I would install. The railing provides support when needed, and the difficulty adjusts based on whether the child holds on or not. Ages 2 to 5.
What I like about the Inclusive Mushroom Spring is that the accessibility feature — the railing — doubles as a play feature. A child with limited mobility holds the railing for support and bounces safely. A child without disabilities uses the same railing to increase their challenge by letting go and trying to balance freestanding. Same structure, different experience, no one feels singled out.
The engraved HDPE treading surface provides solid grip for feet, and the powder-coated galvanized metal frame is built to last outdoors. It is a simple piece of equipment, but it fills a gap that most spring riders miss entirely. Most spring riders require a child to straddle a seat and hold on with their hands — this one lets children stand and use a railing, which opens it up to kids who cannot use traditional designs.
