Not every piece of playground equipment needs to be high-energy. The Psagot Playgrounds Hammock A gives kids a place to decompress without leaving the play area. The cable seat lets them lie down or sit, and the rocking motion is slow and steady. I recommend it for playgrounds that serve sensory-sensitive children, but in my experience, every kid on the playground ends up using it at some point during the day.
The fall height is just 55 cm, which is about as low as commercial playground equipment gets. Three kids can share the seat, so it becomes a social spot too, just a quieter one. The galvanized steel frame is the same commercial-grade construction as the high-activity equipment, so it holds up to the same daily use despite looking more relaxed.
