The 9-Foot Single Zig Zag Embankment Slide is a hillside slide with a twist -- instead of running straight down the slope, it zigzags. That back-and-forth path gives kids a longer ride and adds some unpredictability compared to a standard straight embankment slide. It's designed for ages 2-12 and fits a use zone of 14 ft 8 in by 9 ft. Like all embankment slides, it sits against a hillside rather than on an elevated platform, so you need a suitable slope to install it on.
BEST FOR: Parks, schools, and playgrounds with a hillside that's roughly 9 feet in height. If you've already looked at the straight embankment slides and want something with a bit more character, the zig zag design gives kids a different sensation on the way down. This is a good companion piece to a straight embankment slide if your hill is wide enough for both.
The zig zag design is what sets this apart from the straight embankment slides. Instead of a direct shot down the hill, kids navigate a series of turns that slow them down naturally and extend the ride. It's a different sensory experience -- the direction changes add a mild lateral force that straight slides don't provide, which some kids find more engaging.
From an installation standpoint, this works the same as the straight embankment models: you need a hill with the right grade, and the slide mounts against the slope. The zig zag path means the slide covers more horizontal ground than a straight version at the same height, so your hill needs to be wide enough to accommodate the turns.
