The Playground Equipment Curved Post Bent Rung Vertical Ladder is a commercial climbing structure for ages 5-12 with curved posts and bent (swerved) rungs instead of standard straight bars. The irregular rung shapes create a different hand-feel and visual character while adding a new challenge to each climb. Can combine with other PGS structures or stand alone. Holds 2-5 kids, 96" fall height, 12' 5"W x 16' 3"L use zone. Meets ASTM F1487 and CPSC #325 standards.
BEST FOR: I'd recommend this bent rung ladder as a companion to the straight rung or maze rung versions. Each one climbs differently, so putting two or three side by side gives kids variety without repeating the same experience.
The bent rung version takes the basic vertical ladder concept and puts a twist on it -- literally. The swerved bars create a different grip angle at every rung, so kids have to adjust their hand position on the way up. It's a subtle change from straight rungs, but it's enough to make each climb feel different and challenge grip variety. The arched posts add to the visual character and match the curved post aesthetic across the PGS line.
At 12 by 16 feet, the footprint is compact enough to pair this with the straight rung and maze rung ladders in a side-by-side arrangement. Each one offers a different climbing texture, and kids naturally gravitate toward trying all three. The structure also works as a standalone add-on to any existing playground.
